We have traveled for all of our IVF cycles and have been lucky enough to stay with my Mother-in-law and Father-in-law for all but one. The first two cycles I was in their home alone as they wintered in India. Logistically simple. I rented the entire series of “Lost”, drank vodka and came and went as the doctor required. These last four cycles with Arlo have been *slightly* different. It is hard putting on mascara with a toddler in the room. Now replace the tube of mascara with a transvaginal ultrasound wand and your eye with … well …
Everyday Arlo’s Mimmi and Dadu care for him so I can slip in the stirrups solo. My Mother-in-law and Father-in-law are bright and shiny silver linings sprinkled with patience sparkles and beams of generosity.
