Today I went to my friend Steph’s house to shoot some portraits for her family’s Christmas cards. Steph is a cool chic and a mother I admire so I’m always happy to see her and her children. I am not a professional photographer by any means but I hope that I can offer her a few respectable options.
Despite my having taken a class last winter, shooting all the time and beginning to study this Digital Field Guide, I still feel like I stumble back assward into good shots. And software – where would I be without software? After a ruthless first round of editing, I touch EVERY remaining photo in Aperture.
Though it was quite challenging, I enjoyed my on-line course so much that I’ve decided to take another, shorter course which starts next week. I’m excited to dive in again and improve myself. The anonymity of the internet is a great thing. Judge me! Judge my art! Who am I? You don’t know! Suck it!
What I should also do is go through the tutorial or various online resources to master Aperture since I spend so much time in it.
But who’s got all that time? Those cookies aren’t going to eat themselves. Besides, if I can get better at using the camera then I won’t need to rely on the software. No need to make fresh pasta if you don’t know how to boil water.
Aaaaaaaaand now I’m hungry.
