Visible Monday: Gave Good Face

My last haircut was on February 22.  Farrah arrived on March 1.  Priorities drove me to this:

Gave Good Face

Two and half months later and with some assurance Farrah would nap around 9am, I booked a haircut with Gen at Cha Cha.  Since I had some length, I decided to change my look a bit and keep bangs.  I asked for Demi Moore, circa “Ghost” and got it:

A quick snap outside of the salon with lipstick and sunglasses (and a filter) and things vastly improved:

Gave Good Face

But here’s the thing, I like my face:

Gave Good Face

I like my face a lot and now I’m not so pleased with my decision to cover up a third of it with hair.  The good news is since I would go shorter I can return to Gen at any time and do just that.  Whew!  First World Problem solved.

Telling you that I like my face reminded me of this Kate Winslet quote:

“As a child, I never heard one woman say to me: ‘I love my body.’ Not my mother, my elder sister, my best friend. Not one woman has ever said: ‘I am so proud of my body.’ So, I make sure I say it to Mia, because a positive physical outlook has to start from a very early age.”

Yeah.  That.  We’ve got to put an end to that.  To hating your body, your face, your hair – all of that.  Speak well of yourself.  Team Kate!

  1. I love the Demi Moore look, but your pixie is cute too. I say have fun with the bangs for now – you can always cut them off again later :)
