The Worst Thing I Saw All Week
Farrah’s First Rice Ceremony or Annaprasan is coming up and I was hunting down a shiny top for her on Amazon and Etsy. While I didn’t find a silk or satin onesie (go figure) I did find this:
Yours for $15.99 on a page I won’t promote here.
This reminded me of the time someone referred to Arlo as my “IVF Baby”. I asked her to refrain from such labels, which seemed appropriate since we were at a Fertility Support Group meeting.
Everyone loves a Mixed Baby. A Mixed Baby. Perhaps I’m more sensitive what with Durga Puja last week (I was the whitest person there and that’s saying something for Wisconsin) . Or perhaps not. Perhaps it’s just dumb to label people and even worse to label babies. Literally:
A baby is not a Packers fan. He very well may not love his aunt or even girls for that matter. She was not born to shop or be a princess. If there’s one trend in children’s fashion I despise, it is this. I will let my children speak for themselves and until then I remain Mum.
A fair and happy weekend to you all, Dear Readers.
