MMM – Picnic Point

Mostly Madison Mondays – a howdoyoudo from my hometown of Madison, Wisconsin

“Picnic Point, a nearly mile-long peninsula along Lake Mendota’s south shore, is among Madison’s most distinctive features and is probably the most popular destination in the Preserve.”  – Lakeshore Nature Preserve

This is Picnic Point in summer, from the same website:

And my point of view during a family walk this weekend:

Picnic Point

Great view but not great light. Freely acknowledging use of filters on these first pics.

An angel among us.

An angle among us.

Picnic Point is an ideal Madison walk; short enough for the whole family but long enough to get your heart pumping, and beautiful views all around.  Despite that however, we were there alone and briefly – we didn’t even make it to the point itself due to an 8° temperature, a bathroom need and excitement around a potential nap.  We’ll be back though, we always return to Picnic Point.  Hope to see you there!
