I Am Going Bald: Firefighters
I'm shaving my head to benefit St. Baldrick's Foundation on March 16. This series will document why I'm doing such a thing.
When I decided to shave my head for St. Baldrick’s there was only one event listed in Madison; the Firefighters Local 311 Annual Headshaving Event. I asked the Team Leader, Chris Hubert, if I could join their group and he said yes. At the time there were seven volunteers, today there are 38, nine women including myself. It’s going to be a great event and if you’re in Madison you should definitely come the Coliseum Bar, Sunday 4-8pm and witness the madness.
It’s funny that of all the people in the world with whom I’ll share St. Baldrick’s are the same people with whom I shared so many St. Patrick’s: firefighters.

The middle of March has always provided lots of happy, hazy memories for me and I expect Madison, 2014 to be no exception.
I just think this year’s photos will capture me with a baby on my lap instead of a vodka cran in hand.
Slainte Dear Firefighters! For all you do this March 16th and every day.
I’m going bald in two days.
