Speaking of, this, from Interracial Dating’s Facebook page, made me smile (thanks Larissa!):
I’ve been thinking about the #bringourgirlsback campaign all week and feeling quite impotent about affecting any change. I did post Chris Rock’s tweet on my Facebook page, with great hesitation I might add. Yeah, turns out I’m THAT afraid of terrorists.
I also went to Amnesty International’s site to make a donation but then crapped out when I envisioned the onslaught of junk mail that would bring – which in turn made me feel like a cretin. Then I read they have no location in Nigeria “THERE IS NO AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL PRESENCE IN THIS COUNTRY Amnesty International does not currently have a presence in this country.” so I felt slightly better.
In the end I set aside the threat of junk mail and contributed to The Malala Fund:
