MMM: RedBall
Mostly Montreal Monday
Shots and thoughts from my new home of Montreal

We did it! We saw the Red Ball!
Seeing The RedBall Project was a feather I needed in my urban cap. Like most of humanity, I marvel at large-scale public art. Remember The Gates? The Waterfalls? If I have the opportunity to see something so special, I’m going, and since I never go anywhere alone, my family is coming with me.
Farrah was on board right away

as I thought she might be since “BAH!” is one of her first words.
Arlo was unimpressed because he was expecting to play with a big red ball.
Kris humored me.
Bless them, one and all.
The RedBall Project was in Montreal from August 31-Sept 6 and this day it was at L. Berson & Son right in our Plateau neighborhood. L. Berson & Son is a monument maker with an iconic spot on bustling Rue St. Laurent.
Squishing that huge soft, red ball between the granite headstones and rusted girders was no accident I’m sure.
I was inspired by the whole scene and felt grateful to be living in such a vibrant area, able to bear witness.
Thank you Artists: to those whose chisel granite for our darkest hours and those who cushion our sharp edges with whimsy. And thanks to you too Montreal. Until next week!
