The Best Things I Saw All Week
Some yard whimsy on the way to school. I call her Lara Croft, Bloom Raider:
This lonely splash-pad elephant who kept flirting with me:
Cereal boxes displayed diagonally in a deppaneur down the street. Pretty and a nice lesson on aperture (f2 and f11):
Siri responding to my observation of Arlo going down a bumpy slide:
(It wasn’t about you Siri, jeez. JK! I love you.)
Every Idea I’ve Ever Had i
n the Last 4 1/2 Years:
Did you know it was Ovaries Week at NYMag? What, you didn’t feel it?
- This article made me 1) think about my own Marijuana Doula, 2) remember that I am a trained and certified Birth Doula and 3) grateful to have never faced an unwanted pregnancy.
- A more light-hearted read is their piece titled 25 Famous Women on Childlessness. Enjoy zingers such as: “I’m completely happy not having children. I mean, everybody does not have to live in the same way. And as somebody said, ‘Everybody with a womb doesn’t have to have a child any more than everybody with vocal cords has to be an opera singer.” —Gloria Steinem. Zinnggggg! Right to the ovaries.
There’s some good stuff out there but the second week now I’ve highlighted New York Magazine. I am in a surfing rut. What are you reading about lately?
Enjoy your weekend, then get back to me.
