Coloring Salvation: Abandoning Nemo

I picked up coloring as something to enjoy with my son while he builds Legos.
Some say it’s not therapy but the mind drifts when hands shift and here’s what I’ve been thinking:

I was so into this one.  Once I started with the orange pen, a “Finding Nemo” theme came to mind and I was excited about creating waves in the design.  That led me to ponder the movies my kids prefer and I could see it all coming together when …

“I want to color.”

“Okay.  I’ll get you a sheet of paper.”

“No. I want to color with you.”

“You may, but on your own piece of paper.”

“No.”

“Farrah, this is my paper and it is special to me.  I will get you your own paper.”

“NO MOMMA!”

“PLEASE MOMMA!”

“No, Farrah.”

<despair>

My kids have everything they want and need.  They don’t also get my stuff.  I heaved a heavy sigh, removed myself from the argument by doing a load of laundry (theirs) and came back to this:

Oh really?  Really?

I am so *not* going to finish this.

<indignation>
